| Message | In 1952 and again in 1954 my family packed out of Pinecrest into what was then called Cooper's Meadows. We were the guests of Henry Sanguinetti of Sonora who Summered his cattle up there(and down in the valley on my Dad's farm in the Winter). We stayed in the main cabin (built, I assume, by Mr. Cooper), caught more trout than we could eat and cut rashers of bacon from a slab that hung in the cabin year round. (my mother had to cut the green mold off of the bacon, but it didn't kill us). I had heard that the Forest Service tore down the buildings and was thrilled to see them in your photographs. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. If you'd like to see pics of the place from almost 60 years ago, I've got 'em. |
