| Message | Thanks! Here's an article about my dear friend Trevor Gibbs who was featured in my comedy about William Shakespeare that can be found in the video section of my web-site and on You Tube. I am pleased that I can keep his memory alive for his loved ones through this video...
Family and friends party on for Trevor From the Swindon Advertiser, first published Friday 12th Aug 2005.
FAMILY and friends of Trevor Gibbs packed out the Swindon Rugby club to pay their last respects to the man with an infectious personality.
David Rees, the joint owner of the Swindon Rugby Club, said 200 people were in the club to celebrate the life of Mr Gibbs, 51, who died in a motorbike accident.
It followed Mr Gibbs' funeral on Wednesday at which hundreds of people paid their respects to the man who was described as a true friend and a Peter Pan.
He died in an accident at the Whitehouse Bridge junction in Swindon on July 31.
Mr Rees, 50, had been a friend of Mr Gibbs for more than 30 years. They met through the rugby club.
Friends and relatives packed out the club, on Greenbridge Road, from noon until 10pm.
"People were singing, and if Trevor had been there he probably would've been leading it. He was always the life and soul of the party," said Mr Rees.
And he said he will miss his friend dearly. "You just cannot replace a guy like that," he said "They really did break the mould when they made him." |
