MAKALEDEN BİR PARÇA
In this context, creating a Web site of the village is very important in order to
communicate internally and sharing data, search for information, send e-mail messages,
purchase and sell local products (agricultural, handicrafts, and rural industry), present their
cultural and historical values, e-government issues, and contact with the developed world. The
successful examples of this can be found in different parts of Turkey. For example, Musa
Tokmak – an English teacher – built his village's Web site in 1995. The Web site (www.
sivrialan.com) was the first to show photos of a village in Turkey and say something about Asik
Veysel, a famous Turkish folk poet and folk singer. He also says “In 2002, when I visited aWeb
page that says NASA collects geographical names to give as names to some solar planet or
meteors, I sent my village's name to them. Then NASA sent me a name certificate (Certificate
No: 2797006). Now Sivrialan name is on a CD on the red planet Mars” (Anonymous, 2003). |
