MessageHi there, I'm in the Hantsport Fire Department here in Nova Scotia. We recently purchased Arlington fire's engine 107 (The Little House), and today it went on it's first run as an HFD engine. Just thought that maybe someone would maybe be a little bit interested in knowing. We are really glad to have the truck, and are very appreciative to Arlington County for their co-operation when it was purchased.

MessageCapt Higgins:I too offer my condolences on the passing of your Dad. He was a few years older than I am but I remember as a kid,at Christmas Time, going to where he lived in an upstairs apt above a business at Wilson Blvd & Garfield St, to see their extensive electric train set up. I also recognize a number of pictures in The Arlington Fire Journal that are from a photograph album that my father gave to yours because of your Dads dedication to maintaing the history of the ACFD. May GOD bless.

MessageRandy, I offer my condolences on the loss of your father. He was the original Historian of the ACFD and we all owe him for his efforts to preserve our history.

He was a good man. May he rest in peace.

MessageHey Guys, Just took a look at out new-to-us pumper that arrived here in the Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia. We purchased your former Engine 114 and must say she is a sweet truck, and know she will serve us well. with a few touch ups, re-decaling, and changing the threads she will be good to go. to keep the heritage of the truck we are going to keep the "Operation Noble Eagle" decal on the side of her, we can never forget what happened that day and what you did for your country.

From one Brother in the fire service to another

Keep Safe, Keep Alert, and make sure Every one goes home

MessageCapt. Higgins: First of all, what a GREAT web site. Can't tell you how pleased I am to have found it. Being a Higgins, I assume you are related to "Frosty" (Frank Sr), Frank, Jr or Jack. I am a former member of the ACFD (Volunteer at Sta. 4 & Professional Firefighter at Sta. 1 & 3 before leaving the ACFD for the DC Fire Dept(which was probably 1 of the biggest mistakes I have made). I am also the son of one of Arlingtons first Paid Fireman, Capt J.L. "Dooley", Georgie (dec'd.). I retired 5 years ago from the Law Enforcement Profession & currenly live in Holmes Beach, Fl. I would enjoy hearing from any members from the "old" days (early to mid 60's) & espically anyone from the Nov '62 recruit class. Best wishes to all former & current ACFD members.
