MessageMike, you have blown my mind. I have been studying the railroad model for 20 years and have never seen anything like your work. The fact that all your photos show that we live in the same town is fantastic. I am so proud that such a talent is from the Inland Empire. Your work is so beautiful, any chance of seeing it in person?!?

Thank you so much for your contribution to our hobby.

MessageI am really impressed by the weathering on the freight cars. Very realistic. It takes a real artist to achieve this level of realism. I especially enjoyed the photos of the real buildings you have as referance. These are some of the best back street type building walls I have seen, and are the type I like to model. I appreciate you putting them up. I would love to see more like these.

MessageMike,

Not to sound like a broken record but... your work is stunning. You're ability to recreate the translucent look of faded paint (the faded tank car) is beyond compare. I am a fanatic with regard to realistic weathering and I can say I'm good at it... but you blow me out of the water. Thanks for sharing your photos with us. I appreciate and understand your desire to keep your techniques to yourself. However, I have already learned many things from you photos. I stumbled across your site but rest assured, I have it book marked now. My last observation is that I have a feeling that your were a military modelerer and learned many of your practices from that genre. Again, my hat is off to you and your work. Take car & thanks for the "visual tips"!! smilie smilie

MessageI met this unassuming guy sitting in the cold on the back of an old loading dock photographing trains.....little did I know who or what he does! This guy is a true "train artist" ....probably one of the best in the USA.
