MessageI am a great-grandson of Uncle Dick Wootton. His last wife, Maria Pablita la Luz de Lujan, was my great-grandmother. I'm trying to work on the genealogy of the Wootton clan. Any info on Uncle Dicks parents, brothers, sisters, etc. and further back would be appreciated. [email protected] Thanks

MessageMy wife is the great-great granddaughter of Uncle Dick. He married his 3rd wife, Fannie Brown, in 1863, at Doyle Ranch, Huerfano Co., Colorado. She died 1 yr and 12 days after their wedding. They had one daughter, Francis Virginia Wootton, who Uncle Dick, on 09 Mar 1865, permitted Walter C. Burt to do an Adopted by Indenture until Francis was of age. On 06 Feb 1882 she took back her Wootton surname when she married Owen DeKalb Williams. Walter Burt's wife and Owen DeKalb Williams' mother were sisters - this is how Francis Virginia Wootton came to know her future husband.
