| Message | I just happened upon your website, and read the history page of the Young Israel of Chomedey. I was touched to see my mother, Rose Peligal, one of the original teachers in the school, was mentioned in the article. We lived on the street next to the Romitti Street, the original location of the shul. My mother passed away here in Vancouver, in the year 2000. She would have loved to see her name mentioned in the article. I'm glad I saw it! Michael |

| Message | I have been to the Young Israel many times since 1969 for bar mitzvahs ,social events ,and the last time was for Danny Shmarders brother Alans wedding. Good time as I enjoyed myself with the Cohen family and friends. I actually went to Greek school next door at Hillcrest elementary on Saturdays when we were just in our roots program for the Greek Community Center of Laval ,pre demosthene that was started up by my father George Moudakis ,Father Sbilis, Mr Ragas,Peter Tsakonas and a couple of other pioneers. |

| Message | I just looked at your 50th anniversary pictures. Fifty years ago, my parents Louis and Ida Small a"h, my brother and myself lived in Chomedey on Prince Charles Street and later we lived on Normandie Blvd. My parents were very active in the shul. My father was one of the original co-signers for the new shul mortgage and my mother ran the gift shop for many years. Rabbi Spiro and Cantor Singer and Rev Marmor officiated when my husband and I were married 44 years ago and my brother had his bar-mitzvah in the shul. Mazal-Tov on your milestone anniversary. | Message | What great memories surround this congregation. Romiti street and Rabbi Spiro,family joys and sorrows shared with an amazing Jewish community. My parents, Herman & Trudi Vosberg were also founding members, my sister was married there, my son was bar mitzvahed there. My uncles,brother and cousin are all buried in the cemetary. Glad to see the community surviving. |
