MessageI passed SSC in 1971 - the year Indo-Pak war took place. I remember our prelims before SSC were cancelled because of the war.

I had been the captain of the school cricket team, and vice captain of the football team. Fondly remember those days when we used to play Giles and Harris shield games in Bombay. Remember fondly Mr. Raphael, Mr. Shabbir, Mr. Karunakaran, Mrs. Barve, Mr Gujrati etc. Wonder where some of my dear classmates are: Douglas, Claude, Adrian, Vipin Seth, Sudhakar Chopra, Krishna Iyer, smilie Dinesh Khare, Ashok Khetrapal, my cricket teamates, Deepak Ghosalkar, Jitendra Ghag etc are?

Remember well when the old school came down in 1965-66, and the new school was built. I remember how we used to finish lunch as soon as we could so that we could play for a longer period of time during long recess.

Would love to get in touch with some of my classmates.

Love you all.

Subir

MessageI was in SJB from JKg to XII, belonging to the batch of '89 (SSC) &' 91 (HSC). Looking back with nostalgia at that special time in my life, as I grew up, my school years. No other time has had as much influence and carries as many memories as those years. Sometimes bitter, often sweet these memories last a lifetime. Looking forward to reliving some of those memories with teachers and friends through this site.
Best wishes & warm regards smilie
Rajiv

MessageHi
Am to waiting to see some names on here from around '82-'83. If I remember correct, I was in Mr Raphael's class (Xth) before joining NGB College for BCom. A lot of the guys stayed back to do there XIIth @ SJBH before coming over to NGB. My buddies were (still are) David Moses, Suhas Rao, Jagdish Jain, Sanjeev Seth and more.
David and me are still in touch (UK). Those were the days...we organised the 1st ever SCREAM fair in the grounds of the school at the other side of the lake(can't remember the name of the school)...and remember breakdancing for the college annual socials (now I think surely we were a bit funny in the head coz why else would we make complete arses of ourselves) smilie smilie
Be great to hear from old friends and catch up on whats new.

MessageDear sir,
I am from the 1957 batch! My heartiest congratulations to the school administration, principal, teachers, students and other staffs on this centinary year. 100 years in service of education is something to be tremendously be proud of.
Late Rev.Fr.Frank Lobo was the principal during my school days. It was also in the year 1957 that Hindi was made a compulsory subject for the SSC exams for the first time. Mr.Sharma, our Hindi teacher did a magnificent job in making us fit for the exams, not an easy task considering most of us had hardly any knowledge of Hindi in those days. We had in our batch students of all faiths (Hindus, Muslims, Buddhist, catholics, protestants, jews, parsis and sikhs). It was a previlage to be in such a group. After a lapse of almost 43 years(!)I could trace some of my classmates and friends during one of my business trips to India.
I visited the school some 5 years ago.It has indeed changed a lot. Most of my teachers have passed away. However I was fortunate to meet Mrs.A.Schroff our mathematics teacher who is in retirement.
My very best wishes to the school which has given me a lot. I am sure this school will continue to do the great and good work with vigour and dynamism in future.

Yours faithfully,

S.Iyer
