MessageHello all,
It was a nostalgic experience for me at the Ex-Students' Reunion last evening.......meeting my batchmates after more than 30 long years. Kudos to the Ex-Students' Executive Committe for putting together a great programme......lighting of the lamp by some ex-students who are now in their 80s, the bursting of fire crackers, releasing of a hundred colourful balloons in the air by ex-teachers, the dance performed by the mentally challenged children of our Special School, the orchestra comprising of talented blind musicians and singers, and ofcourse, the jam session that rocked the grounds of St. John's.

To all those I met...Paritosh Deshpande, Yatin Vijayakar, Soluchana Kotwal (nee Iyer), Milind Ballal and many more....let us hope we meet again. To Newton Fernandez in Canada, Hello and thank you for remembering me, and to those who could not attend for whatever reason, we remembered you fondly....Rosebud Azavedo, Vrinda Nirody, Rita Mukherji, Charmaine Remedios, Pervis Waterwalla, Jyoti Phanse, Nirmala Tamhane, Poonam, Kazi Nazir, Tejinder Singh, Amar Kumar Sharma, the Patki twins, Archana Srivastava. To Quentin Alphonso in the USA, Hi cousin, and to Vincent Fernandez in Canada, Hi friend.

I must add here, that each one of us ex-students had a special word of appreciation for our dear Principal, the late Rev. Fr. Valerian Godinho.

What a great way of keeping in touch through this site!!!

MessageHey All,

I am an alumni of SJBHS, and graduated SSC in 1991 (wow, that seems like a long long time ago!). I was reading the guestbook and it made me realize that there are not a whole lot of people signing up the guestbook who graduated prior to 1991, making me realize how old our batch seems relative to the ones writing here!

It was definitely a nostalic moment going over the photos, the history, the guestbook etc! SJBHS definitely helped to shape me as an adult instilling the right academic, social, extra-curicullar virtues.

The memories are enormous. All the great and not-so-great teachers we had! The vada-pav from the canteen, the fear of getting a remark in the calendar, the prize distribution ceremonies, the sports days, the camps attended as a scout... the list is endless! And it was fun reading up the anthem and trying to recollect it... (i was able to recollect about 60% of it!)

Anyway, wish the school a very happy centennial year and hello to all the alumni of this great school! In case there are any batchmates who stumble on this blog, you can reach me at [email protected]

Cheers,
Shashank

MessageHi everybody,
It is very good to see St. John, my alma mater doing so good. The website helps me keep updated with the going ons. Not just me but even my younger brother finished schooling at St.Johns.
I read the guestbook regularly to see if any acquaintance has posted a message..someone that I havent been in touch with..Rajesh Kamat...man!! how are you..the last I remember seeing you is in the NMMT bus going to RAIT and then BVIT. smilie
School was fun and enlightening both at the same time. I am still in touch with most of the guys from our batch and to those who want to get in touch with us, please email [email protected] or even me so you can join in...It would be fun to have as many ppl from our batch and even other batches join in and share each others experiances.
So long friends...
Keep up the good spirits
Dr. Ghan

MessageHi to all. Passed out of school (Year 10) in 1975. I can see two of my class mates Mohan Iyer and Quentin Alphonso have signed in. Our Alma Mater comes to mind quite often, especially some of the class mates and teachers like Gujarathi Sir, Kamal Kulkarni teacher, Aloo Shroff teacher, Karunakaran sir to name a few. Can any of you have any idea if any of our teachers still around? They would grown quite old I guess.

Great to see our school celebrating 100 years. If anyone of you remember this name please drop me a line on [email protected]
