MessageThank you for putting "the House By6 The Side of the Road" on your website. VERY NICE! I first read this at the actual House in Tilton, NH when I was a teenager and it became my creed for life - It is the most wonderful meaningful saying I have ever read. It has made my entire life interesting and rewarding. If only more people today would heed its message. Thanks The house where Foss lived and wrote this while he was a student at Tilton Seminary, by the way, is still there, altho the present occupants have taken down the sign as they have no sense of history, and simply do not want to be disturbed. Previous occupants (particularly Mrs. Moulton) have always welcomed visitors into their home and revelled in sharing little folklore details
