| Message | My father grew up in a house on Kroy Way in the shadow of the old radio tower. When I was a child in the mid 1980's, my grandparents were still living in that house and I remember the tower vividly--walking past it with my grandfather. Radio isn't what it used to be. |

Though I never graced the 1240 mics myself, I did spend 15 years in Sac radio, during which time I rubbed elbows with quite a few of you at other stations here. Some of you may remember me, some won't, I'm sure. I'll never forget you, though. Terry Nelson, Tony Cox, Kevin Manna, Rick Shannon, John Buckley, Dave Williams, just to name a few. Hope you all are doing well, and maybe soon (here's a cliffhanger, I'm sure...yeah, right) I'll return to Sac's airwaves somewhere in town. Until then... |

| Message | The reason I got into the business was because of KROY. In the early 70's, I think it was 71 or 72, KROY ran a contest on the radio giving clues to a location in Sacramento that if you found it they would give you something. I forget now what it was, but that didn't matter. KROYs ability to keep this 10 year olds attention for hours on end was what fascinated me. Very powerful stuff! I knew that day that I wanted to be a Disc Jockey just like "Wonder Rabbit", Chuck Roy.... and company! Thanks for the memories KROY!! P.S. Ironically I ended up working for KROY in 1983! |

| Message | I have to apologize to you all. I was one of the DJs during the so sad Adult Rock period. When we moved out of Old Sac the "everything" came out of the whole staff. Sure, it was a shiny new facility, oh so fabulous, but it was operated by a dedicated and talented staff constricted by a bugus concept...Adult Rock. Oh God, I'm still not over it. |
