Many of you have requested
new message approval. The new feature has been added to all guestbooks (free and upgraded) and here is how it works:
To turn ON new message approval you need to go to the
Control Panel and select from the menu:
Guestbook -> Settings -> Guestbook Options
At the very bottom check the box "Approve New Messages" and click "Update Guestbook Options".
Now no new messages are added to your guestbook before they are approved by you from the Control Panel.
IF you have chosen to be notified of new private and pending approval messages (
Control Panel -> Guestbook -> Settings -> E-mail Notification) you will receive an e-mail each time a new message is added to your guestbook.
Otherwise, you need to check your control panel from time to time (
Control Panel -> Guestbook -> Messages -> -Pending) to approve new messages. E-mail notification is recommended unless your get lots of new messages.
Known limitations:- If a user checks the "Private" box when signing the guestbook there is no way of knowing this when approving new posts.
- You are not notified if new messages are pending approval on the Control Panel welcome page (will be added soon).
