$phrase['return_to'] = "Eintrag";

has to be

$phrase['return_to'] = "Zur&#252ck zu";

Otherwise it would be " sign 'pagex' " and it has to be " return to 'pagex' "
->return = Zurück

$phrase['characters_left'] = "noch m&#228gliche Zeichen";

has to be

$phrase['characters_left'] = "Zeichen &#252brig ";

This would be a lot better, especially because it needs less space.
