A brief news update to let you know what is going on at UltraGuest.com...
New server
It is now more than three weeks since UltraGuest moved to a new and more powerful server. On average guestbook pages are generated five times faster than previously! :)
Bug fixes...
A few bugs have been fixed including a major bug that prevented some users from joining. The system did not like the character ' and any new members trying to join with using this character were simply refused to join. A visitor calling his guestbook "John's Guestbook" would not be allowed to sign up! :( After this bug was fixed, however, there has been an increasing number of ....

Last week more than 500 webmasters joined UltraGuest, and yesterday more than 80 people signed up for a free guestbook! Welcome!
New features
Quite a few new guestbook features are being added. The first ones will be ready in a day or two and can be seen in the members area (login from ultraguest.com). You will now be able to chose if you want to display the following in your guestbook: location, private, date/time, smilies and the characters left box. It will also be possible to make the entire guestbook private so that only the guestbook owner can read it. You can also choose to get notified when a public and/or private message is posted in your guestbook. This requires e-mail activation (see further down in this message). In the near future more optional fields will be available including custom fields. More on this later.
E-mail verification
In order to enjoy some of the new features you must verify your email address. This can easily be done from the members area where you can request a verification email that contains a link for you to click on. Click on the link and you are all set. This must be done is in order to avoid bounced emails and spam complaints. Your email is just as safe as before and will never be shared with anyone.
