Major system error

For some - yet unknown - reason, all guestbooks have been altered. Your guestbook appearance has been changed and you are unable to login to your guestbook.

Daily backups are created, and the database from yesterday will be restored in about four hours from now. Guestbook entries added in the past few hours will be deleted. Your old login information and all other guestbook entries will be restored.

I am truly sorry about the problems this is causing.

All guestbooks have now been restored. Unfortunately, I had to use the backup from September 12th as the most recent backup was created (automatically) just after the error occured.

Again, I am really sorry about the problems this has caused for all of you.

It is 3pm, NY, NY time 9/14/04. My guestbook hasn't been restored yet. The entries are ok, but the format isn't mine. The url is http://www.ultraguest.com/?id=1092765361 and it now has some Jamaica theme, with orange background that definitely isn't mine.

My background was completely different and it also had my logo. It took time to figure it all out, I don't have a copy of it (from now on I'll copy the page.) Please help!

We are all having this problem. The system was restored from the problem the other day, this is a new problem. You can see by reading the other threads, that we are all experiencing the same problem with the Jamaica page. I'm sure Andreas will restore our guestbooks to normal but we will probably lose all entries from today.

My guestbook too, on the 14th september '04, has been changed to this - jamaica website- linked to http://jma.eclub.lv/ and lots of people have left this person messages- is it a problem here- or is this person hacking in?

Andres.. I don't know if this is the right place for this question but here it goes. My client has his guest book on this site.. but the webguy that set it but is no longer around and I'm the new guy. I've updated his site and need to make some changes to his guestbook. I can send you all the client informtion you need. Can you point me in the right direction?

Nov 15, 2004 ..I have a few guestbooks with your company and they are experiencing the trouble you mention here as well. The sad thing is, my clients were using a guestbook from my server which was hacked into over and over so I looked for a new company..I find you guys..u seem great and then this.. where's our smiley face for big tears! hahaha

is this something that will be worked out soon? I had taken the whole guestbook, re-did it then it was fine for about 10 mins..:(

My guestbook has also been reset to "Bumps and Babies", although my guestbook entries haven't been deleted as of yet. http://www.ultraguest.com/?id=1097476576

Additionally, when I was trying to send an email to the webmaster, the address given to send to was "[email protected]" ... the email immediately returned to my account saying, "Remote host said: 553 sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts".

It does seem like the system has been hacked into, but I really don't know about these things. Thanks for trying to help and working hard to restore our guestbooks. Sorry if we all got a bit annoyed. I'm praying you'll find the bug and it'll all be over soon.
