| Message | I lived about a mile from the Cow Palace in the early 60's. Our neighbor was Jack Van Ryder (Artist). At that time the Cow Palace was owned by Art Lang. My mother was a waitress there and I was a bus boy. I spent a lot of time fishing in the lake and my brother worked at the service station. My parents were good friends with the Langs and we spent a lot of time there. It was a great place with a lot of stories. |

| Message | My parents were school teachers at Sopri school in 1950-51. Amado school 1951-52. Calabasas school 1952-54. We lived in the teacher housing. Dad operated the swimming pool for Kinsley every summer during those years. I spent all those summers hanging out and working around Kinsley's ranch. I was a kid 10-14 yrs old. I loaded crop dusters, chopped weeds and cleaned up trash for Otho. I knew Fran Gaylor from Canoa, along with a kid named Cuatito. Knew all the Jeffries. Sam & Helen White and their kids Joanie & Jimmy. Also the Garcias from Sopri ranch. Quito and Virginia and Lila. Bill & Marie Walls, sons Frank & Billy from the Arivaca ranch. (Jack Walls still lives in Sahuarita) Richard and Dorothy Merchant. We all went to the rodeos and the dances at Kinsleys. Otho with his coffee mug and sweaty old hat. Good old days & good old times. Us kids stayed with them every summer and loved playing shuffleboard and swimming in the pool. The coldest water in the state of Arizona. (ovk - copied over from old guestbook.) |
