| Message | After a long journey from Madrid to Diani Beach, we arrived late at night. There were seven of us and five are Kite Surfers. When we awoke the next morning the sight was wonderful. White sand, huge beach, crystal clear, turquoise waters as we had always dreamed. 700 or 1000 meters out to sea, waves are breaking on the coral reef.
We hit the water and the kites for an hour. Good wind. Then breakfast on our big bungalow terrace prepared by the chef, Abdalla, who comes with the rental: Freshly cut fruit, mango, watermelon, banana... coffee, toast ... A short rest, then out with the kites again.
The routine is not bad in a place like this: you get up. Browse on the wifi. Eat breakfast. Kite surf. You bathe in the swimming pool or sea. You lie on the beach. You Kite surf. You eat, drink... Hahaha!
Laying on the sand at night watching the sky was another great discovery. No light pollution here and so many stars in the Milky Way. One night it was full moon and at 23:00 with the wind blowing about 18 knots, we went sailing. The sea was lit by moonlight but the biggest discovery was the plankton, which lit up a million little fluorescent dots as we cut through the water table. It was incredible.
In the mornings, a Fruit Vendor brings us watermelons, mangoes, pawpaw, lettuce, tomatoes and a fishmonger brings lobsters, octopus, king fish, squid, parrot fish. Prices were very affordable: we spent for six to eight euros per day per person and we loved the food made by Abdalla, our cook.
The trip was booked through Viajes Kitesurf Travel where Eduardo handled us very well and was attentive until the last moment. Also Hugo, the manager of Galu, behaved beautifully and looked after us so well. It's a great place - go there! |
