MessageKia ora
He mihi tino nui ki a koutou e mahi ana i te whare taonga nei. Its been several years since we visited the museum and we are so glad that we called in - we spent a couple of hours looking through the many treasures and would have loved to spend longer. The quality of the collection and the many new additions, including the Grandstand and new buildings make for an excellent experience.

Nga mihi nui, Melanie and Jared

MessageMy brother, sister-in-law, and I visited this museum on one of our last days of our 6 week stay in New Zealand in mid December, 2009. This visit to this museum was one of our highlights. It cannot be compared to the museum in Wellington, but its wonderful collection, beautiful setting, and friendly and helpful staff makes this museum a must visit when in Christchurch.

MessageA real treasure of Maori artifacts and an incredible history of a way of life through the years. It is a real credit to the people involved in the museum and they are to be commended for their dedication to preserving an important part of New Zealand history.
