| Message | My Father was John Lightowler, his brother Charles Lightowler. They were the owners of the family business Charles Lightowler, Lithographers and Chromo Tin Printing Works Hunslet Leeds. They invented the roll top edge tins for Rinstead pastilles amongst others. I think their Mother was Sarah too. My dad was born in 1911 and died in 1967 so I really never found out much about our history. |

| Message | Hello, I stumbled across your website when researching my Lightowler family. My maternal grandmother was a Lightowler. Phyllis Urquhart Lightowler Birth 26 Aug 1903 in Halifax, Yorkshire West Riding, United Kingdom Death 28 Apr 1961 in Tisbury, Dukes, Massachusetts, USA She emigrated from England with her family from Halifax, West Yorkshire in 1906. Her family moved to Pawtucket, Rhode Island where there are still members of the Lightowler family today. My grandmother married my grandfather and moved to Martha's Vineyard island where I grew up.
