Joined TC sometime in 1964 from USS SARATOGA. Spoke French and learned Italian at the Naples Berlitz school. Loved being able to wear civvies ashore and aboard after making E-4.
Looking to connect with John T. Moore, III, SK1 who was my buddy and superviser and also David Lang, disbursing clerk.
Also Rudolph Hamlin, LT, SC who was the supply officer at the time.

some very familiar names here. went aboard as part of the pre comission crew in charleston as a rd2. hard to believe my youngest daughter born in naples is now in her late 40s. i made rd1 while aboard and retired in 1977 as an osc. i noticed no one mentioned the dumping of the ammo in the harbour and having to get underway on christmas day. cheers for the cooks. best food i ever had in the navy. i,m an old man now but i,ll never forget the finest tour of my career. if any of u old salts remember old grims, look me up on facebook.
