| Message | My most vivid memory is when we in dry-dock and was temp at comfairmed and received a message from the USS Liberty that they were under attack. I was back up to Sasher RM2 who was in charge at the time. |

| Message | Had a short (due to illness and death of my father) but a good tour. I recognized my self and Ski in the picture of John McLaughlin collection taken during personnel inspection. As I recall, it was also when I was promoted to 1st class that day. I don't remember the name of the skipper, but he was great, a mustang as I remember and could really handle the ship. Broached her once to starboard in Souda Bay and got her off the beach in short order. He didn't believe in tugs for help. Trying to put together names and events is not easy since I lost all off my mementos in Katrina (the bitch) and when you're 73 and events took place 47 years ago. We had some great beer bust on the beach by the Greek Orthodox church and spent enough money up in Xonia for the the guy to buy an electric refrigerator. Hope this finds someone who was in the Tally while I was and will get back to me. Best wishes to ya'll and God bless. Doc. |

| Message | CDR John Shute was captain of the ship when i reported for duty, but was replaced by CDR Jackson R. Pickins shortly after i checked aboard. I worked with LCDR Casper Van Dien XO alot, very nice XO. I left the ship in late June of 67 to be discharged. |
