MessageJust ran across this site while surfing the internet. My Dad as CDR E. Duane Kemp and was Skipper in 1963/64'ish timeframe. Sadly, we lost Dad in August 2010, but I know he remembered his tour at Naples fondly.

MessageHi fellow ship mates this something I've wanted to do for years and after I saw John's message on Facebook and checked out the page.Wow what a surprise .It brought back a lot of fine memory's and I saw a lot of familiar names Sorry I never got to go to any reunions.I retired in 1975 off of the USS America CVA 66 .In 1979 I moved to Groton CT.and went to work at Electric Boat .building the Ohio class subs retired from there in 1998.Retired completely now.Hope to hear from anyone who might remember me.!

MessageI served on her for a short while in 55. I re-enlistd on her and while on re-enlistment leave I was involved in an auto accident. remember a few men on her, one was a BM1 Taylor & SN Chinn. Later on while serving on the Casa Grande a GM3 by the name of Cook came aboard. He said he was on the TC when it was decommissioned. Cook helped me make GM3. I lost contact with him and have trying to locate him all these years. I remember he was from Kentucky. MessageThe Tallahatchie County (MS) library has been honored for numerous years to house a collection of memorabilia related to the USS Tallahatchie County. We will be asking the Department of the Navy to allow us to be a repository for other important items. We invite the crew to have their 2013 reunion in Charleston during our Gateway to the Delta festival. As honored guest of the festival you will be given free access to the collection. Additionally we will provide a space for your gathering at no cost to you. The festival will take place in Charleston MS on September 28, 2013.
