| Message | My grandfather Edward John Cassidy emigrated to the USA in 1912, settling five years later in San Francisco. He was born at Drumbar, Donegal in 1884, son of Francis Cassidy and Annie Kelly Cassidy. His branch of the Cassidy's can be traced to about 1799 in the Donegal region. Since Drumbar appears to be less than 50 miles from Enniskillen, it is possible and even likely that we are related, however distantly. Do you have any information about Cassidy's that may have moved to Donegal? I live near Portland, Oregon and have been to Ireland five times, including a couple of visits to Drumbar and the area my grandmother came from, Altilow/Heneys, Donegal. We plan to visit again this fall. We always thought the family motto especially fitting for my lovely, but strong-willed mother. Thank you for any information you can share. Slante, Eileen |

Mary was the daughter of William T., his father was Thomas and his mother Bridget Murphy both born in Lanark, Scotland. I don't think we have a relationship, but we could be distant cousins somehow.
