Thank you for visiting my guest book. Thanks to those who have signed it, stating who you're looking for, and about your roots. Do you know the province or area in Poland your family was from? Did your relatives immigrate to America, another country, or is your family still in Poland? I love hearing other people's stories. I find it inspiring. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, Julie

Note:  In the blog title section, under "pages" there is now a "blog title surname index" page. This index I created is for names you write about. If you would like your guestbook post to be a blog post, let me know and I'd be happy to share your story.

MessageHi, I am searching for my great-great grandfather Jan Pindel.
Update: Hi, Julie I should have given some more info for my great-great grandfather that might help smilie. He was born in June of 1872-1874 and traveled to America from what I can tell twice. Once in 1899 and the second time was with my great-great grandmother Karolina (Pindel) Krzyzowska and two of their small children in 1905. They had 12 children (4 died under 2 yrs. old or at birth). Would love to find out more of my families history. Thank you!

MessageI see that you have a photo of a Julia Matuszek on your page. That name is one that appears on my family tree. Would you know what the names of her parents/siblings are? I'm curious if they are _
I do know Julia's siblings and parents. I will send you a message. Julia's siblings were: Karolina and Wladslaw. Her parents were Franciszek Matusek and Paulina Buerger. -Julie

MessageI just came across this blog. Very interesting. My maternal grandmother is from Zablocie Galecia according to Ellis Island. Her name was Angela (Aniela) Sanetra. There are several other Sanetras, including Jadwiga, Stanislaw, Anna, and Antoni of whom I'm aware. They are my relatives and immigrated in 1913. Some settled in Minneapolis (my family), others in Chicago.I've never met any of the ones in Chicago. The only one left in Minneapolis is my mom, I
I am familiar with Anelia and have corresponded with some of this Sanetra family. Glad you found me, I'll send you a message. -Julie

MessageThis is a great blog. I commend your research. I too had relatives from Zywiec Zablocie with some similar last names, i.e. Regina Sanetra who married Marcin Klusak. Their son Jan Klusak married Antonina Kakol, daughter of Stefan Kakol and Agnieszka Drozd. I am anxious to review your blog closer to see if we have a distant connection. Again, thank you for your work on this
It's highly likely our families are related. We had a few Klsak-sanetra marriages. I will send you a message. Do you know if your Regina was a midwife? There was a Regina Sanetra listed as a midwife on lots of records in Zablocie. -Julie

MessageHi Julie,
I think your blog is fantastic. I have been searching for most of my family on my father's side. My grandmother Frances Pawlus was sent to a work camp at 17 and my grandfather John Kulinski served in the Polish Military. My grandmother was from Bystra and my grandfather Miernow. After WW2 they immigrated to the USA heading first to River Grove Illinois and then to Chicago. I am trying to located the names and any information on their siblings. All of this was lost and nobody in the family really has any info on their past. I know also know their grandparents names Michael Pawlus and Carolina Golek and Adam Kulinski and Margaret Fortuna. I have more info as I have compiled a tree on ancestry.com and I'm basically putting this out there much like you to try and see where this leads. Please contact me and we can further discuss.
Thank you
Jeff
