MessageIf tears could build a stairway
and thoughts a memory lane
I’d walk right up to heaven
and bring you home again
No Farewell words were spoken
No time to say good-bye
You were gone before I knew it
And only God knows why.

My heart’s still active in sadness
And secret tears still flow
What it meant to lose you
No one can ever know.
But now I know you want us
To mourn for you no more
To remember all the happy times
Life still has much in store.

Since you’ll never be forgotten
I pledge to you today
A hallowed place within my heart
Is where you’ll always stay.

God knows why, with chilling touch,
Death gathers those we love so much,
And what now seems so strange and dim,
Will all be clear, when we meet Him.
I Knew you for a Moment

I will always miss you Matt i still habe the painting that me and you made it is in my room and now all i have to do is get a frame for it!
I will always love you and no matter what you will always be in my heart
Love

MessageHey Matt,

I just wanted to write to wish you a Merry Christmas. It's been a rough week without you here and today has definitely been the hardest of them all. We miss you so much and we wish you could have been here with us. I wish you could have seen Katie's eyes light up when she woke up to see all the presents that Santa brought her. I wish you could have seen her enormous smile, the one that stretched from ear to ear, as she slowly openned each gift, each one more exciting than the last. We know you are watching over us,and we are so thankful to have the best guardian angel ever...but it does not make your absence any easier to handle. Thank you for all the wonderful memories, and thank you for Katie!

I just wanted to say that I love you...and I will always love you! Don't be a stranger...

Love always,
Bry

MessageJust thought you might like...

Should You Go First

Should you go first and I remain
To walk the road alone,
I’ll live in memory’s garden, Dear,
With happy days we’ve known.

In Spring I’ll wait for roses red,
When fades the lilac blue,
In early fall, when brown leaves call,
I’ll catch a glimpse of you.

Should you go first and I remain
For battles to be fought,
Each thing you’ve touched along the way
Will be a hallowed spot.

I’ll hear your voice I’ll see your smile,
Though blindly I may grope,
The memory of your helping hand
Will buoy me on with hope.

Should you go first and I remain
To finish with the scroll,
No length’ning shadows shall creep in
To make this life seem droll.

We’ve known so much of happiness,
We’ve had our cup of joy,
And memory is one gift of God
That death cannot destroy.

Should you go first and I remain,
One thing I’d have you do:
Walk slowly down that long, lone path,
For soon I’ll follow you.

I’ll want know each step you take
That I may walk the same,
For some day down that lonely road,
You’ll hear me call your name.

I miss you dearly words can not even say. I really miss the way you would tease me.
But the other day when I was planting the flowers for you with Ally, the ground was so hard I was digging and digging and sweating!! I thought I heard you laughing at me like you were right by my side.
I love ya Matt!!!

MessageThe name Matthew means "Gift from God" and that is what your life was to everyone who had a chance to meet you and know you - even if only for a little while. I might be biased since I named my own son Matthew, but I truly believe that anyone named Matthew is sent by God to touch the lives of others in a special way. You have always been a memorable person - a student that I never have and will never forget.

I will always remember the boys' volleyball team at Central and how you entertained everyone on the bus rides when we had "away" games. You never stopped talking! Even though we lost pretty much every game, the whole bus would be laughing the entire way home - thanks to you.

And I remember you being afraid of a roller coaster or two on that Washington D.C. trip in 8th grade. You were brave, Matt and went along for the ride anyway (with a smile on your face)!

I am sure that your bravery and positive attitude helped you and your family and friends get through the hard times over the past few years. Please continue to shine your ray of happiness on your loved ones - especially your beautiful little girl.

Thank you to the family and friends of Matt Ralph for devoting this website to the wonderful memories of Matt and for sharing with us.

MessageMatt and I went to grammar school together. I remember him as always being very happy and able to make everyone laugh. One funny memory I have of Matt is from 2nd grade. During one recess a bunch of decided it would be a great idea to tie all of our shoes together. There were about six to eight of us trying to walk around the black top falling all over. I don’t even think a supervisor stopped us. They probably thought it was hilarious too. Well end of recess came and we had to untie our shoes and go back to class. Matt and I could not get ours untied. We had to go back to Mrs. Gorman’s class with no shoes on. She scolded us and made us sit in the corner of the class until we could get them untied. We were trying to hide our laughter for the hour that it took to untie our shoes, never regretting our decision.

Matt was a wonderful person to be around, and from the seven years we went to school together, I only have fond memories of him. I feel very lucky to have known him. My prayers go out to Matt and his family.

MessageMatt,
Just reading these entries and seeing your face in all of these beautiful pictures is so bittersweet. It is so incredibly heartwarming and heartbreaking to me at the same time. The pictures from "way back when" (and those of Bryann too!) bring a smile to my face. I never gathered that Spanish was quite your "favorite" subject, but you tolerated my craziness and I loved having you each and every day. smilie I still remember Washington D.C. like it was yesterday. You're a great kid who became a wonderful man. Your daughter is just beyond breathtaking, and I am SO SO happy for you that you were able to experience parenthood! What an indescribable gift. Clearly you touched everyone you met. Please keep your watchful eye over these friends and family of yours--They love you so very very much. We all miss you, Matt.
Love,
"Señorita Haney" smilie
