How amazing that this child is more mature spiritually than most adults! Mackie was just three months older than my son, Kandyn. They would have been best friends and seem to have had a lot in common. This story really pulls at my heart strings and I will go home tonight and love and hug and kiss my son til he cannot stand it anymore. I cherish him more now than ever which I didn't think was possible. Children are true gifts from God, miracles! The bible says to have the faith of a child, we would all do well to try to live up to that of Mackie's faith. Thank you for posting this website; and for fulfilling his dream by building the church! Blessings to all that had a hand in it and also to every heart that was touched by this truly amazing child.

On the web site it says that Mackintyre wanted people to hear him speak in his church. He is and we are. Thank you for sharing his inspiration. May God continue to bless you and hold you in His hand.

I read the story in the KC Star Sunday and was so touched by it. I first noticed the article because I went to high school in Lathrop (and lived in Holt). Mackie was so mature in his faith and such a blessing to his family. Bless all those who have made it possible to build his church. I am going to make a point of visiting it. I feel compelled to let you know that I too have lost a son (an adult at the time). May God bless and comfort you.

What an inspiring story! My 5 year old blesses me everyday. Your Mackie sounded like a beautiful blessing to your family. It is sad for us, but think of the joy the LORD is having with your son by his side. I read the article through Eric Lovelace's post on facebook. Hope I will have a chance to see the church in person on one of my visits home. Penny

Hello Stacey and Glen, What a beautiful story about your son..(I just read the Sunday paper--Kansas City Star). He must have been such a blessing for you. I tried reading the article aloud for my own 2 sons (ages 14 and 11) but could not make it all the way through because I cried ..what a special and sweet boy! I hope my boys can become inspired by him and his story, and not complain about little things like cleaning their room. Thank you for sharing your story! May God bless you and your family

The article by Laura Bauer was brought to my attention by Brian Bullock through a post on FaceBook. I have since posted a link on my page so others can be touched by this story as I have. Blessings to the families that have worked so hard to bring this young boy's dream to life. I will be visiting Lathrop this summer and look forward to spending time in Mackintyre's church.

What a blessing he was, and is, to all who read about him. My heart is filled with awe at how mature he was in his faith. He's with the Lord and will no doubt bless Heaven and all who are there.

Thank you for building Mackie's church. After hearing your story for the first time, I know good, life-changing things will be coming from this. May God's blessings continue to pour upon everyone - those who built the church, those who visit it, and those who don't even realize they need to visit it.
