MessageDear Neilson Family, When I first heard about this story I was moved to tears, I cannot imagine the pain you have gone through.I must tell you that as a animal lover and rescuer, I felt compelled after reading and signing the petition, THAT DAY, to go to our local kill shelter and rescue a dog in memory of your Peanut. Well there was a very sad and abused blonde elderly dog who came home with me that day who's name is "peanut" She is the light of our life and I often tell people the story of your peanut when they ask about her. I know losing your little angel that way must be a "pain that knows no end" but know many many people have been affected by your baby's story. Love, Penny and "Peanut the pound pup"

MessageI just found out about Peanut, and was trying to catch up on the outcome of the trial. So Blake got the maximum of three years... but the article said, "Judge Shanahan followed usual legal practice and ordered parole release after one-third of the sentence was served." Since it has been almost two years since sentencing, has Blake been free for over a year?!?! Is anyone tracking his whereabouts?

And, what happened to Trent William Cunniffe??? I read that he was trying to get off on a mental health evaluation, and then there was nothing else published. Is he still in a facility somewhere, or where is his present whereabouts?

MessageEverytime I read what happened to Peanut I get sick... 3 years are not enough at all but better than nothing. Always keep in mind that psychos start with animals first, later they turn to humans. Feeling sorry for all animals which have to suffer because of sick people.
Greetings from The Maldives

MessageThere is not ONE DAY that goes by, that I do not think of this little one. I am heartbroken about
this baby.

I want to tell the family that , although, Peanuts is in Heaven now, we animal lovers do whatever we can to ease the suffering and inhumanity of humans towards the voiceless, on behalf of Peanuts and all the babies like him.

I hope to one day see Peanuts, over the
Rainbow Bridge, where he can meet my Rose, my beautiful husky girl. Then we will play and run and fetch forever.

I am relieved the evil doers are in prison, I wish their life is a Hell. I wish 'prison justice' would take place , as is often the case in the USA.( animal-loving prisoners get the evil ones).

I applaud Australia for giving these evil doers the maximum sentence. I wish it was death.

Love to you, Mrs Denise LoRusso

MessageI still think of Peanut and his family. I keep his bumpter sticker on my car to remind me and others who ask, the extreme cruelty of mankind. I don't understand why there are those who do this. I find such pleasure in my pets and grandchildren. They are both beautiful creations of God. smilie

MessageI can't even begin to imagine how hard it must've been to hear of his cruel and unimaginable death. No animal, let alone a beautiful pet like yours, should suffer such a horrendous death like Peanut's.

I hope that in the near future, they change the maximum prison sentence and give these monsters the punishment they deserve. Taking the life of an innocent animal is no different than taking one of a human, it's a life, period! Let them rot in jail and suffer the time.

Although I didn't know Peanut, I know he was a wonderful pet and member of your family. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your gorgeous pups Peanut. May his unfortunate death pave the way for a more fair justice system. Peanut will never be forgotten. <3

MessageI wish the Judicial System would recognise animal cruelty as a heinous crime and give a tougher penalty. The jail time should be the same as torturing and murdering a child. To little Peanut, may you be finally be at peace you poor little soul. Dogs are innocent and have no ulterior motives. They just love you for being you and how can any person abuse such an animal. May his cowardice murderers get their cummapance. RIP Peanut. smilie
