MessageKathy,
Your work will be missed. You are a wonderful designer. I love all your books and also own them. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Kent and Kristen thanks for letting us know. Good luck on your adventure. You both sound like wonderful kids. Your mom is lucky to have you.
Take Care!

MessageKathy,

I have a few of your books, and enjoy them so much! Your free spirited way of quilting is so much better than using stencils, etc. Your son was nice enough to check your email, and ship the book to me!

Thanks so much for inspiring me, and so many others.

I got Ken's email today. That is a great idea to put some of Kathy's quilts on eBay. Moving them to a good home is a great idea. The beautiful quilts get adopted, and you guys get hopefully lots of money to help with health expenses! A win/win situation in my opinion.

Love,
Connie

MessageA few years ago I attended a workshop by Kathy here in Tucson when she was a guest speaker at our quilt guild. I have her books on free-motion quilting which have inspired me. I brought one of my quilts to "show and tell" her so she could see her inspiration put into practice. I think she was impressed by my efforts, because she commented to the class that if she couldn't finish teaching that day, that I could take over for her. We spent much time talking at the lunch break and I got a lot more good ideas from her.

Unfortunately, that afternoon she was unable to finish the workshop when she became ill from what she thought was food poisoning from something she ate the evening before. Of course, I did not take over for her, but I was honored and flattered that she thought that I could. (I doubt that I could have)

It's such a shame that such a horrible disease should cut her career as a quilter short. My heart goes out to the family because I sort of have a small idea of what you all are going through. I watched my mother suffer from dementia and later on the time she had to be in assisted living and later a nursing home. Please feel the virtual hugs I am sending your way for all you are doing for Kathy.
