| Message | Great website!. My dad, who is now about ready to check out, had a 66 that was his pride and joy. Bought it new from Gene Merollis Chev in Detroit. It was hotter than hell, and dad took it to Detroit Dragway, and shut down the street mopars. I was young and it was very loud and scared the hell out of me. Dad's was the lovely silver,mag wheel covers, with black interior. Dad didn't like the Muncie and had a Hurst put in it. Of course it had the big "knee knocker" tach, like yours. He had the special 375 horse in it - he had a Holly put on it, as like the Muncie, he didn't like the Rochester. He had headers on it too, and same mufflers that didn't muffle much. Dad would also take it down I think it was I-94 from Detroit to Toledo, to "blow it out" I was in the back seat with my eyes big as saucers! Then somebody ran a light when he was coming home from work one day, and T boned dad, and the frame was bent, and that was that. Your site makes me think of those happy years when dad had that car, even though my brother was in 'Nam and all that. I have no use for the crap they call cars today. I drive a 2000 Camaro, which is as new as I'll ever own. I wish I could get something as lovely as your car. Those were the days when Detroit ruled.
