MessageThe idea that the fella next door makes his living driving a tractor put this old truck farmer's heart a flutter. I think it would kill me if I had to stop growing things, something like writing for you maybe?

MessageFor reaching your latest milestones, felicitaciones! Hubby & I've lived aboard our sailboat for 6 yrs. now & have been cruising MX 24/7 since Oct. 2007. When we get Internet ashore, I enjoy reading yr. blog(s). We have our own blog & agree w/ yr. remark that many folks want to read only sweet stuff about life in another country - mention any gritty reality, however minor, & it messes w/ their fantasy. E.g., readers of sail-cruising blogs like to see only white sand beaches, turquoise waters & cavorting sea life. Describe repairing a marine toilet & they accuse you of "whining" or worse. Anyway, thx for yr. blog - I like your style! Marianne Smith, s/v Gallant Fox, now in La Paz BCS

MessageMy brother-in-law, the would-be curmudgeon, asked me on Christmas Eve "why on earth would I want to read about someone else's life on a blog?" I asked him if he was bored with HIS life. He said no. I said "well then, you won't be bored with this guy's life". I sent him a link to your Part III. He can work backward from there.

Our personal interest stems from a visit back in 2004. On our first trip to Mex after reading an AARP piece on retirement, we picked Morelia out of four places mentioned. Happenstance... we met a couple in an adjacent apartment when he picked up his Miami Herald English edition and I offered to trade a couple of English paperbacks for a look at his paper. He's retired from California, and she's from Apatzingan, and we've been back to see them every year since.

That first year Jane and I packed into a tour van for an all-day visit to Patzcuaro, to Tzintzuntzan, to Quiroga, and yes, we passed through (your neighborhood). Later, in learning more about the countryside we saw out of the dusty van windows, we encountered your blog. Your web site is great fun for us, as it must be for you. Watch out, or you'll get put on the celebrity house tour route.

We'll visit Patzcuaro again the first week of February. Keep up the good work.

MessageI got your blog from the Dodsons who met you a while ago in Mexico. Reading your blog is like reading mine; regarding dying, Kiva loans, Runaway Train, etc. wonderful stuff. Do you think we could get the Federal Election Institute to change our political process in US?

MessageHola! We are leaving Barra de Navidad tomorrow and heading South. We just may stash the motorhome at the coast and head your way in the car for a couple of days in a hotel. I want to see Patzcuaro and Morelia. If you are around we should get together for a coffee.

Croft & Norma Randle (Note from Felipe to Croft: Cafecitos await you. Note to all: My email link is on the profile page, a better way to communicate.)
