MessageIt's Father's Day. First one without you. And today is the first day of summer. I can't imagine not hearing your mowing and tree-fighting adventures. We miss you.

MessageThank you so much to all the students that have posted here. It's so great to see how much Dad has impacted the world - and not just for us. We always knew this, but it's so wonderful to read your words.

MessageI have just been informed of Mr. Maaske's passing, and have been deeply saddened. I was a student in his electronics class for 3 years. The love he had for both electronics and his students always stood out to me the most. When people ask "where were you when on that morning of 9/11?", Mr. Maaske's electronics lab is my answer. I feel honored to have been a student of his, and still use the techniques and patience working in the field on a daily basis. To his loving family, I would like to extend my condolences and deep thanks for sharing him with those many students he touched. Chris Tesche - South Garland High Electronics. 2000-2002

MessageI took electronics classes at South Garland HS back in the mid 90's and loved having Mr. Maaske as a teacher and a mentor. His style and knowledge meant a lot to me. He was a very out-going and fun guy to be around.

I have now gone on and graduated from ITT Tech and I know Maaske would have been proud of me. I share the same passion for electronics that Maaske did.

I just recently found out about his passing and I am deeply saddened. My codolences go out to his family and friends.

Mr. Maaske, because of your enthusiasm and knowledge, you have helped me become the person I am today.

MessageHi Dad. Been thinking about you alot lately. Christmas came and went without you. I had gifts that were for you and Mom to come hiking and/or camping with me. We never did that, did we?

I have a very good friend from college whose 14-yr old son was killed the day after my birthday (12/11 to be exact). It's such a huge tragedy and a VERY HUGE waste. No one meant for that to happen. Just devastating. Great kid; really smart and kind and funny and weird and sweet.

It amplifies my frustration that you could ever have been so lost that you didn't want every minute you could have. It's not fair - you know that?

Mom and I are going to do the Texas Master Naturalist program. I invited you both to join me, but it will be just me and Mom. I know I'll think of you every time we go to class, or do volunteer work.

Miss you. Love you. smilie

MessageWe're friends of Gretchen and Bob Gould. We read about Peter in the Gould Gazette and were quite impressed by his accomplishments and differences he made in so many lives. Peter was fortunate to be recognized during his lifetime. We're sorry for your loss.
