MessageThinking about you a lot lately and I think you know. Phoebe died Tuesday and I just know she is with you - bouncing around with Sparky, Bart and Baron. Tell her I love her and miss her!

Bill emailed me - too cool! I updated a note from him to your website. It's neat to "meet" him in emails and think about how things are connected and so disconnected. Would I have ever talked to him if you hadn't died? It doesn't matter because I believe that we are all connected - here, there, everywhere.

Miss and love you!
Becky

MessageI just found out today of the passing of Mr. Peter M. Maaske. I just want to say that He was my most influential teacher at South Garland. I was there from 1987 to 1991. He touched our lives in various ways. He was such a great teacher and will deeply missed.

MessageI just found out my good friend for 5yrs of my life Peter Maaske passed away and I am deeply saddened and hurt to hear this news. I was also in his class the day of 9/11 and thats one of familiar memories of him, it hit him so hard on what happened that morning. Some kids were laughing and cutting jokes about the airplane crashing and Mr. Maaske stopped and shouted how serious and life changing this incedent would be and boy was he right. Everyone shut the hell up and some of the "toughest" guys I knew stood in shock/fear as we all watched the second plane hit. Maaske proceeded to have some of us strip down wire to act as antennas and me and a couple of other students went door to door getting everyones tvs set up so they could watch and see what was happening. Maaske got me started in my career of telecom although that did not pan out I still use alot of the basic electronics knowledge to date but most of I still use all the LIFE knowledge he shared with me and I will really REALLY miss him I know he is still watching over me and all of his ex students. Oh yeah Maaske you owe me a bag of chaw from 2003 where is it? Man I will miss this man and I will post more memories as the come to mind RIP MAASKE one of those awesome Teacher they make movies about!!!

MessagePeter came to mind today. Three years ago, he gave a really generous donation to the American Heart Association. He helped my son be top seller at his school that year. My son has been top seller now for three years.

Thank you Peter for this and all the other generous donations you have made to numerous charities over the years.

Love you and miss you.

MessageI always think of Peter at times like Christmas when family means so much.

I am especially cheered when I read his students' comments about what a great teacher he was. Teachers are my heroes and he was the greatest. Thank you for letting us know and best of luck to all of you. Work hard for Peter and try to impact someone else's life in a positive way.

-His sister Gretchen

MessageHELLO.

I JUST LEARNED OF THE PASSING OF PETER MASSKE. I REALLY DONT KNOW WHAT TO WRITE. SO ILL JUST SAY THIS. NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE I BE SO INFUENCED BY AN EDUCATOR. I WASNT ONE OF THE GOOD KIDS OR A GOOD STUDENT, THERE WHERE A FEW OF US IN MASSKE'S CLASS. I WAS IN AND OUT OF DRUGS AT THE TIME, AND HAD A VERBALLY AND SOMETHIMES PHYSICALY ABUSEIVE FATHER. I CANT REALLY EXPLAIN IN WORDS WHAT MR. MASSKE DID FOR ME, HE FLIPED A SWITCH IS THE BEST DEFINITION I COULD GIVE YOU. I MORE OR LESS WANTED TO WRITE JUST TO SAY THANK YOU! IT WASNT UNTILL LATER IN MY LIFE THAT I TRULY UNDERSTOOD WHAT HE WAS DOING FOR ME. I REMEMBER ONCE HE ADDRESSED THE CLASS AT THE END OF THE YEAR ... AND ASKED US IF WE KNEW WHAT WE WERE DOING .. IE: P/I*E & E/I*R "PHYSICS YALL ARE DOING THE SAME STUFF THATS GOING ON IN A.P. PHYSICS, DONT EVER LET THEM TELL YOU YOU CANT DO IT" THAT REALLY MEANT SOMETHING TO ME

THANKS MASSKE
