| Message | I always think of Peter at times like Christmas when family means so much. I am especially cheered when I read his students' comments about what a great teacher he was. Teachers are my heroes and he was the greatest. Thank you for letting us know and best of luck to all of you. | Message | HELLO. I JUST LEARNED OF THE PASSING OF PETER MASSKE. I REALLY DONT KNOW WHAT TO WRITE. SO ILL JUST SAY THIS. NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE I BE SO INFUENCED BY AN EDUCATOR. I WASNT ONE OF THE GOOD KIDS OR A GOOD STUDENT, THERE WHERE A FEW OF US IN MASSKE'S CLASS. I WAS IN AND OUT OF DRUGS AT THE TIME, AND HAD A VERBALLY AND SOMETHIMES PHYSICALY ABUSEIVE FATHER. I CANT REALLY EXPLAIN IN WORDS WHAT MR. MASSKE DID FOR ME, HE FLIPED A SWITCH IS THE BEST DEFINITION I COULD GIVE YOU. I MORE OR LESS WANTED TO WRITE JUST TO SAY THANK YOU! IT WASNT UNTILL LATER IN MY LIFE THAT I TRULY UNDERSTOOD WHAT HE WAS DOING FOR ME. I REMEMBER ONCE HE ADDRESSED THE CLASS AT THE END OF THE YEAR ... AND ASKED US IF WE KNEW WHAT WE WERE DOING .. IE: P/I*E & E/I*R "PHYSICS YALL ARE DOING THE SAME STUFF THATS GOING ON IN A.P. PHYSICS, DONT EVER LET THEM TELL YOU YOU CANT DO IT" THAT REALLY MEANT SOMETHING TO ME THANKS MASSKE |

| Message | I have just been informed of Mr. Maaske's passing, and have been deeply saddened. I was a student in his electronics class for 3 years. The love he had for both electronics and his students always stood out to me the most. When people ask "where were you when on that morning of 9/11?", Mr. Maaske's electronics lab is my answer. I feel honored to have been a student of his, and still use the techniques and patience working in the field on a daily basis. | Message | I took electronics classes at South Garland HS back in the mid 90's and loved having Mr. Maaske as a teacher and a mentor. His style and knowledge meant a lot to me. He was a very out-going and fun guy to be around. I have now gone on and graduated from ITT Tech and I know Maaske would have been proud of me. I share the same passion for electronics that Maaske did. I just recently found out about his passing and I am deeply saddened. My codolences go out to his family and friends.
