| Message | Illustrious Sirs, I was once told by a Wise Past Potentate that not all Masons are Shiners but all Shiners are Masons. With this in mind a incident occurred at this years Mid-Atlantic Shrine Association held in Virginia Beach Va. During the Shiner Motor Corp inspection we were ask to remove our Masonic Rings unless all rings were the same. Our unit from the Khedive Camaro unit complied but with great hesitation. We are all Masons and should be proud to wear the rings of this great brotherhood. Not sure this action should be allowed. Thank You for looking into this matter. | Message | Finally elected Potentate in my own right 11 January. First Divan meeting this Saturday in Stuttgart. Our Oriental Guide is signed up for the OG Leadership Conference next month. The AR cannot get time off to attend the AR Leadership Conference following. We are excited about the Imperial Potentate coming to our turf; Italy, Romania and Germany in May along with Lady Margaret. Imperial Sir John will be visiting his ancestral home in Italy while he's there. In Buckarest we have him lined up to attend the World Conference of Grand Masters. While in Germany he has requested a seat at "The Ritter" in Heidelberg known for its cuisine extraordinaire. We are looking forward to a member of Emirat Shriners returning home. | Message | It was indeed a pleasure to represent Emirat Shriners at the fall MASA convention at Virginia Beach. I wish I had known that Virginia Beach Bvld is 100 miles long as I had a little trouble finding the Double Tree hotel. This being my first MASA event I was very impressed with the organization and execution of the conference. Hats off to Ill Sir Arnie Brown and George Eason for making my visit most memorable and the opportunity to meet so many nobles who make a difference. I found that Ill Sir Terry Fabian and I share a passion for playing the trombone. Unfortunately it is too big to be considerated "carry-on" baggage and Terry's Camaro is already full. I'm looking forward to coming back next year and renewing new found friendships.
