MessageIn response to Holly -- I second your remarks in every way. The ways of the world are nothing like I believed in as a child, or at least they aren't in many ways. the person we all honor here in this website set an example for us all to follow, through his graciousness to everyone. I often think of that and am reminded that even though the rest of the world seems to be spinning out of control, I can do my part to continue walking the path I have always believed in. Ultimately, we are responsible for our own actions.
Peace and blessings to all. Jim, hope you are able to relax and enjoy a "fireworks-less" 4th of July in the quiet and beauty of Hana.
Love to all,
Susan

MessageI was raised in a Military family, with brothers serving in the Navy and always being remineded of the sacrifices that are envolved from both those who are serving and their families. I've had the privialge of living in Birmingham, Alabama since I was 8 years old but currently live in Columbiana while commuting to Birmingham where I work at the UAB HLA Lab with the transplant program. One of the criteria when looking for a home to buy, my daughter said she wanted to live in a town like Mayberry (in today's world - I didn't think I would be possible) But it's about as close to Mayberry as Aunt Bee's Fried Chicken. I've probably watched every episode of Mayberry and Gomer Pile and wish society could recapture some of the wholesome and down to earth life styles that were taught from (what I've come to call) the "good ole fashion reality shows". Those were the lives I treasured and wanted to be like. My daughter even grew to love the image of that. Not the glitz and noise and hustle and bustle of violence they mostly air on television today. I guess I wanted to say thank you for being part of that wholesomeness way of life that some of us still would like to strive for. Thank you for your music and inspirational voice that can relax any stressful situation. Thank you for being part of what I and my family consider to be part of an american tradition. I know your always a busy man, but if you ever have a chance to swing by Columbiana, I make awesome sweet tea. Take care,Joy

MessageJim and Ron, I sure am enjoying the music videos.
My most favorite ones are the Minnie Pearl ones. I see you had giddy up go on there. There are two more great ones on youtube. What would you do if Jesus just showed at your house one day? and the other is Are all the children in? And being from Louisiana, I must plug our singing governor Jimmie Davis, "Ice Cold Glass of Buttermilk". Sarah Ophelia Cauley Cannon and Mr. Henry sure were a great influence in my life. You could see Jesus on their faces and they lived their lives to the fullest with Jesus.

MessageMr. Nabors,
I wanted to wish you a belated 80th birthday. It was nice to hear of your birthday party and that your friend Carol was with you.

You know, Dr. Phil says that everyone of us has defining moments in our lives. Meeting you in the summer of '71 was a defining moment in my life and one I will always remember. I was 12 years then and am now 51 years now, and you are still my favorite vocalist.

With heartfelt admiration,
John Spell

MessageMr. Nabors, At 51 years old I realize my life is nothing like the innocence I believed in as a child. Listening to Battle Hymn of the Republic today, much pain slipped away and I was reminded of the simple faith of my childhood. Thank You,

MessageWishing everyone a good 4th of July!

Due to several unforeseen circumstances and family crises, I will now be unable to attend Jim's concert in Lancaster. I do hope that all of you who are able to go will have a wonderful time. I will certainly be thinking of you.

The message below from Lisa, our wonderful singer from Indiana and such a remarkable member of the military, is heartwarming to read. Best to you, too, Lisa. We have all enjoyed your music. As one who appreciates the best in that way, I know Jim did as well. Kind regards to all, Susan

MessageAt the age of 6 years old and as a birthday present, I traveled from my hometown with my mother to Lake Tahoe to see you and Kay Starr preform at Harrahs Tahoe. We were poor farmers living in the Carson Valley, but I will never forget the first time I saw your show at Lake Tahoe. Actually i own s condo in Hawaii now and while my friends were there last spring you inadevertantly met them. I can't tell you how much I respect you, your acting and your music through the years.

MessageIt was a pleasure again this year to meet Mr. Nabors at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. I had the distinct honor of sharing the stage both last year and this year when IMS invited me to sing "The Star Spangled Banner" in 2009 and "America the Beautiful" this year.

As a Hoosier and military member, the pre-ceremonies honoring our fallen service members during the memorial weekend and hosted by IMS are an incredible experience and ones that I will never forget.

Send Mr. Nabors my sincere best and if the opportunity presents itself again next year I truly look forward to seeing him.

very respectfully,
Maj. Lisa Kopczynski, Indiana Army National Guard, Camp Atterbury, Public Affairs Officer
