MessageFrom one Alabamian to another and from a Marine's wife to Gomer Pyle, USMC, Hi Jim. My Marine went on to his Heavenly home October 09. I have always loved Gomer Pyle, USMC and after my Marine passed on, I bought the series on DVD. Now, when I watch it I feel close to him and the old days.

MessageI live in Indianapolis and every year I try to make it to the parade and the race. I love it when you sing "Back Home Again In Indiana". I listen to every word of the song. Thanks for all the years of returning to Indy and I plan to enjoy your rendition of the song for many years to come. Thank you very much Mr. Nabors.

MessageThanks Kris for doig the countdown. I have been very sporadic about doing that for this concert.

My nametag from two years ago is at home. Pete and I are already on our vacation. We are in Pensacola visiting our daughter. We will leave here the end of next week and begin heading towards Lancaster. We will make several stops and do some sight seeing along the way. We will also head back to Indy on the Monday following the concert. We will be glad to meet you in the lobby before the concert.

Kris - hope you are doing better.

Hope to see many people from the guesbook there!

MessageHi Jim, a cute incident happed at church on
sunday the 4th.

we were recognizing our vets and young people overseas by calling their names out.
we went through so many names and at the end we heard this young voice yell out, " Don't forget
Gomer Pyle. Everyone got so tickled but he was so serious. He said, Why is everyone laughing Gomer served in the viet nam war and he made everyone happy! Our minister is a woman and she believes in children and that they can sure lead others to christ. She said, "yes we all serve in different ways and we an make a differnce in peoples lives." The child said that is why Gomer is still around because he does what god wants him to do.
Our minister looked this child in the eyes and said Amen! We served communion and headed over to our cover dish dinner. She said that was a much better sermon than what she had prepared." And we all said, Praise Be To God for he is working in this world through the eyes of a child!

MessageDear Mr. Nabors,
You are my famous person of the week. I decided last week that I would write to one famous person each Sunday for at least a year, just because I feel like you deserve to know how much I appreciate you. I got my inspiration from Taylor Lautner, so I wrote to him last week, but you are the second person I thought of.
I'm only 18, not a typical age for your fans, I bet. My father actually introduced me to you. He always liked The Andy Griffith Show growing up. So he decided to share them with me. And after watching a bunch of those, I decided that I liked Gomer enough to watch all of those episodes too. I'm not going to claim that I have all of them memorized or anything crazy like that, but it's good to know that when I have a bad day, I can come home to a happy, family-friendly show that is as entertaining as it is unlikely.
It is slightly upsetting to me that you left The Andy Griffith Show. When Gomer and Barney were together, WATCH OUT! One of my favorite ones was when Gomer "stole" Thelma Lou. You and Don Knotts had some great on-screen chemistry. But Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C. was still lots of fun to watch.
I also like to listen to you sing. We just have one CD of you, but it has gotten quite a bit of use. I love singing along to your Inspirational Moments With Jim Nabors album. It helps me take my mind off my work when I'm washing dishes or doing other boring housework.
You are incredibly talented. Thank you.

MessageBelieve it or not, I'm just discovering your wonderful music. I've been longing to hear beautiful and inspirational songs, and remebered hearing a few of your songs on an album long ago, so I went to amazon.com and started buying and loving your music. Thank you so much for giving your voice to my heart.
