With Thanksgiving being a little less than a week away Pete and I want to wish everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving. Enjoy your time with family and friends. I know we will enjoy being with our family and our new granddaughter. :)

MessageThe relationship between Gomer Pyle and Sgt. Carter inspired me to ultimately join the United States Marine Corps. I want to thank Jim Nabors and the late Frank Sutton for bringing these characters to life. In all aspects of life, I can honestly say that there are very few "real" people that has touched lives like Jim Nabors can. I realized from his appearances and music that we have a responsibility to share the talents we have with others. My mother, Naomi Arrington, is now 92. She absolutely thinks that Jim Nabors is the best, whether it is his music, television programs, or even his rendition of her favorite song, Back Home Again In Indiana. She was born and raised in Indiana. I personally want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Jim Nabors for his dedication and professional abilities to make our hearts glow and faces smile daily.

MessageDear Jim,I met you when I was about six or seven years old in Allentown, Pennsylvania, at the Allentown Fair. I was born with Hydrocephalious- water on the brain- When I was a young boy my favorite show was Gomer Pyle, I never missed an episode. My mother arranged for me to meet you, well I must tell you, a boy , six or seven. who saw you thought that you weer a very big person. At that time you said we would always be friends. When Gomer Pyle came out on dvd, I made suire I got every season, and to this day I enjoy watching it. My most favorite episode was when you sang The Impossible Dream. Again many thanks for the wonderful memories. Rob Lumpkin

MessageJim,

I was so excited to be part of the quilt project. I got into the project late and instantly had the idea that I wanted to put Gomer Pyle figure on the quilt. When I went to look for fabric I happened upon the marine motif and thought that would make a great border. We are from a younger generation. In our mid thirties but love watching the older shows. We have shared so many laughs over watching you in Gomer Pyle and the Andy Griffith show. We love the character you portray. I was so excited in 2008 to find you were touring close to the town I grew up in. And loved getting to meet you afterwards. Wish we could make it to Hawii next week. Hope to see you in concert again sometime soon. So glad to be part of such a special quilt. Thanks for all the joy you have brought to our home. We also love listening to all your music on LP's

MessageHi Jim:

Jim I wanted to send you a special Thanksgiving greeting! I have made friends with Angela, Debbie and Justin over facebook. Almost every evening we send each other hugs, hearts, notes and chats. What sweet people! Ms. Ruth picture was on my page one evening and I sent an invitaton to be her friend but that one got lost!
I know she is bound to be just as sweet as the others. You must be very proud of them. Mollie sends her love and she wanted me to remind you that you are still her role model. She played in the Million Dollar Band a couple of weeks ago against LSU. She only substituted and said that was a weird feeling but enjoyed it. She Roll Tide all the way. We couldnot come to the concert because we plan on spending Christmas in the islands this year. I am so excited to be able to show my girls where their Grandfather served the President of US and Air Force one at Hickam Field. I told them I would show them Radford High, where I got to stay for four full years. A rare turn of events for brats! And they all are anxious to meet the sweet gracious people of the islands. Happy Holidays and God Bless you and maybe we will see a picture of you with your quilts one day. Love, Sandy, Drs.Kent and Emily Tucker(Catherine and Madolyn)Michaela,Betsy, Mary and Mollie.
