Messagethey wanted 21 dollars to drive an atv onto the campground from the trail to meet up with other members of our atv club that were staying there. i dont think an atv is the size of a space ship.

MessageYes, hospitable, if you like being tretated with aggression and having your atv pushed over the side of the mountain...check police records...freedom of information act is a ..."revealing" thing...guess i just dont consider that hospitable...

MessageThese people were obviously being charged $21.00 because of the size of their space ship. They must be from another planet! Wayne and Donna have never been anything but the most hospitable hosts! Sounds like they were just trying to protect the beautiful facility they have from aliens from outer space. We just made our reservation for October! smilie

MessageIt is amazing how some folks just do not fit in,n Why would thrree folks write 3 posts to show how they have a communication gap.

From my experience visiting the Twin Hollow site, It is by far the best campground in the Hatfield-McCoy Trail System, this is the third trail I have visited and like it the best, mainly due to the nice and friendly campground.

Go figure what sets off some folks, maybe they can not afford the gas to get there and causes an agressive mode.
FWIW

Dave

MessageFind anyplace else to stay!! The management here is rude and borders on hostile / aggressive! Words cant describe this place. Inadequate, hostile and disrespectful. I would sleep at a trail head in the back of my car before staying here! Try the Mountain Breeze Motel or the Wildwood Cabins. Those cabins are much nicer and you have bathrooms in the cabins for the same price. If you are a camper here and want a friend to visit you, they can expect to pay 21.20 per day to visit you, even if it is only for 10 minutes after you come off the trail! STAY ELSEWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MessageStopped in to see if a few friends were ready to ride and the owners wanted us to pay 21 dollars a person and were very irate. I also own a rv and would have come to stay there but after meeting the owners I would say to look for a site somewhere else. The owners have no clue about how to deal with people and no respect for customers. I have stayed at many other campground none have ever been this disrespectfull of there customers a reasonable guest fee of 2-3 dollars would have been ok with me like most other campgrounds but not 21 there insane. There to many other very nice people in Gilbert that need our tourist dollars to survive I would not give them another dime.

MessageOwners are very unfriendly. smilie They spout southern hospitality, but run more on the side hostility. They will enforce the rules when it fits them. Don't make a donut in their gravel or you might find you ATV over the side of the mountain (actually happened in litigation). smilie Restroom/Shower facilities are together 3 for the men and 2 for the women and you can't take a shower from 6am to 9am so others can use the restroom. Also, if any of your group have to stay at another motel or campground your visitors will have to pay $21 to come on their property to visit you. smilie The owners may try and justify their actions, but I spoke with other patrons from across the U.S. and most had an experience with the owners as well.
