| Message | Doug, 8 years ago, you and I were training for the Jersey double century. We both completed that ride and I've never forgotten the sense of accomplishment we both felt at that time. I was satisfied with the distance. But you wanted to push yourself further. Now, after riding with that soldier that returned from the war overseas, and promising to that young man you would ride across the country in honoring that young man, you have embarked on doing just that. If Lance Armstrong can say, "RAAM is the toughest race in the world", then all us recreational cyclists can only marvel at what you are attempting to accomplish. Being part of your support crew, and getting you ready for RAAM was a joy and something I'll never forget. Godspeed my friend. |
