MessageMy great grandfather Jesse Gifford is on the 1860 Arkansas censes. In 1870 he showes up in Hood County, TX census with a different wife, Martha Ann (Byram) Gifford. I believe he first setteled in Wood county where he met Martha and married her and then moved to Hood county.
I would like to find a marriage certificate for
Jesse Gifford and Martha Ann Byram (or Byrum).

MessageMy 2nd Great Grandparents O.F. & Mary Elizabeth Swinney moved from Coweta Co GA after the Civil War to Wood Co. TX, where they raise their family.
Their daughter Marcie Swinney married George Washington Strange. I am interested in being in touch with descendants of O.F. & Mary Elizabeth Huggins Swinney. I would love to share research, and get to know descendants.

MessageI am searching for my grandparents/late 1800s/early 1900s/James Brown / Mary Jane Riley. They lived in Quitman Tx. My grandfather was a blacksmith. Children, Faye/Ruth/Jimmy/Avie...Mary Jane did in childbirth after Avie was born...Jim remarried...think there were more children. I visited ther in about 1985, with other family members. Faye, had the beginnings of Alzheimers so it was difficult to do much searching...I believe mary jane and jim were married in Gregg County but lived in Quitman...across from the old school house. I would appreciate any help in learning more about my family. The four mentioned above were raised in Buckner's Orpahnage in Dallas, Tx...Thank you, Nan

MessageI am trying to find my grandfather and his family who lived in Mineola during the 1940's and maybe longer. They were Irish immigrants. The family name is Jenkins and his name was Harold Wayne. I think he had a sister Peggy, along with many other siblings whom I have no names for. I think his mothers name was Elizabeth and she raised horses for a living. He had a daughter born while in wood county by the name of Barbara in 1944. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! smilie
