MessagePlease look at the photo on this web page of President Nixon awarding medal of honor to the Doane family/
Stephen Doane was US Army the Award being handed is a Navy/MC MOH
I would like to know who or what family this is?
On this date 2-16-1971 these were the marines awarde the Navy MC MOH (Posthumous) Karl Taylor, Thomas Noonan, Lester Weber, Daniel Bruce
Note the person far left in photo holding a MOH in case, Is this the Stephen Doane Family??
Those awarded Army MOH that day were: Stephen Doane, RobertPoxon, William Bryant, Charles Fleek, John Holcomb Terry Kawamura, Donald Johnston, Daniel Shea

MessageEd White's EVA was the first NASA EVA, the Russians had accomplished this before NASA. albeit in a rather haphazard fashion. No allowance was made beforehand for the inflation of the cosmonaut's suit and he great difficulty getting back into his spacecraft. Meanwhile, Ed White's mission was the first time NASA astronauts wore US flags on their s/suits. Sadly he was to lose his life later in the capsule fire on AS 201 (Apollo 1).
