The Board and many volunteers are definitely to be commended for all of their hard work and efforts to make our community better. You've made history once again. I know your work is cut out for you. | Message | i just finished watching the movie, and i don't know what words to describe, i guess the best is to say inspirational, but sad. I say sad, because when i was in school I was never taught about brother Malcolm, I wish, and hope that my children will be educated in the life, love, and history of this great man. I believe in my heart that if he was alive today in body, that the world would be a different place, and i say alive in body because, i will let my voice be herd the next time i see, or hear a racial comment, or act, so that brother Malcolm's spirit will live on. I myself am going to make a pact, i will shake the hand of every Afro American elder that i speak, or make eye contact with, if asked i wont say why, i will reply "i am sorry for what my elders, and ancestors did". I am ashamed, and embarrassed for the hate, segregation, and one-sided thinking that my people have done. I hope that someone reads this, and tells someone else, so that another youth of america will do what i promise to do, it keeps multiplying until all of america's Caucasian youth population is aware, and awake of the hate that did, and still is going on (and it is i work with alot of old people)... thank you for reading this, and i wish i could be there for the largest t-shirt folding, i just don't have the money (kids need diapers, food and a roof), but i will try to make a donation soon...sincerely john stoessel |
