MessageI only discovered Hywel 2 months ago after viewing 'Endless Night' with Haley Mills. He is SO GREAT!! He should be recognized for his acting abilities and I think he is very under appreciated. Thank you so much for doing this fan page. smilie Evelyn Jones

MessageI have always greatly admired Hywel Bennett who is one of Britain's best and most versatile actors. He was superb in Twisted Nerve, Endless Night, Family Way, etc., It is so nice to find a fan site for Hywel as he certainly deserves it. He could convey more acting ability with one look than most actors could do with their whole body. His beautiful blue eyes were very intense and having very good looks was a plus. I am sorry that he has retired from the acting world but I am grateful that we can still see him in his past films and T.V. Best wishes Hywel hope you are doing well.

MessageAs posted earlier, thanks for creating a site for Hywel, however humble, no matter, as said before it's the thought that counts. Am an American with an American dad, English mother. I lived in England near London between 1979 and 1984 and vividly remember seeing the series Shelley and the tv drama Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy and being taken with both. Am ashamed to admit, it is only recently I discovered some of Hywel's earlier films and they are now amongst some of my favorites: i.e., The Family Way and Twisted Nerve (similar in suspense to Vertigo). Bennett is a very versatile and talented actor , trained at RADA. And without a doubt a damn site better actor than most any out there today! Sending him wishes for health and prosperity.

MessageCheers on your good work. Just getting to know Mr. Bennett's work. Saw him for the first time on a re-run of EastEnders and was very impressed. The character of Jack Dalton has one of the most nefarious in television history.

MessageI recall dining at an Italian restaurant in Streatham High Street with my then husband, probably c30 years ago, and Hywel Bennett and two other people were sitting a couple of tables away. He was actually fairly uproariously drunk, his conversation peppered with some really quite impressively choice swear words, but not in a horrid arrogant way at all, just funny. I'm sure I was quietly worshipping from afar, and wishing my husband elsewhere.

MessageFound your web page through IMDB, good to see something being done for Hywel, he deserves it, and it doesn't matter if your site looks humble, it's the thought that counts and you've done a great job. Loved Hywel in The Sweet Smell Of Succession (The Sweeney episode he's in) plus Loot and of course Shelley, he's always been a quality performer but in the 70s he was also a real pin up for girls and probably a few guys too! smilie Of course he looks a lot different today but he's still the quality performer he's always been. Good luck with the website smilie

MessageI am familiar with Hywel through his appearance in Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, the 1979 BBC production. He seems perfectly cast - a nasty piece of work, which is why the secret service hired him in the first place, who actually has a heart and falls in love with the (seriously) beautiful Russian woman (whose name I forget just now!)
I am not sure, but I think I hear Hywel's voice-over in a nature disk I once got to see. I can't confirm it, however.
