| Message | winston, hello my good friend...i am an american living and working in the british virgin islands....i am currently conducting research for a book i am going to write about a story not all that different from yours...it is basically about the treachery and utter uselessness of american women...it will be completed in a year or so...anyhoo...your website has been very helpful to me (not to mention inspiring)...part of the research for the book (part 2 of it actually) will be the "field research" part which is getting out in the world and doing what you did....in the name of research, of course...so thank you for having the backbone to put your story out there for the greater good...as for all the critics and nay-sayers--to heck with 'em...you know who you are ....i always had a deep down feeling there is something better out there than american women...you've proven it to me once and for all as far as i am concerned...feel free to drop me a quick hello whenever..! | Message | My graduate thesis deals with the images of mail order brides on the internet. As you have probably guessed my mother was a mail order bride and thanks to her I am able to become one of those educated, independent and outspoken women that you speak out against. It seems that by traveling around in search of the most lucrative dating spots, you lead on a lot of women who may truly hope for something more. There is a film you MUST watch it is a documentary by Shannon O'Rourke called "In the name of Love." She travels to Russia and interviews mail order brides about why they are doing what they are doing. I think by watching this, you may realize that women are not a homogeneous group, but diverse. We have brains, hopes, dreams and generally don't include tits and ass into our identity. |

| Message | Winston, I for one can relate to your situation. I finally broke free from the curse of Bellingham recently and am happily married in So Cali. Something that never would have happened if I had stayed as the dating scene there is just as you describe it. Also, don't let those here who put you down for dating outside this country get to you. Most of them have probably never even traveled outside the US much less dated someone foreign so how would they know what they are like? I have travelled abroad and there is a difference...believe me! Good luck to you in your travels and maybe you'll find that special someone |
