| Message | Sam, I completely agree with you. I was at the tourney yesterday, and Sloman's hot-dog style cost them the game. No reason Girard should have lost to Pawnee, but it happened. Back in my day, which wasn't that long ago, you finished the play and made your free throw. You didn't try and be a 6' Michael Jordan who can't jump and underhand flip every shot that you can. Make the shot and quit worrying about how good you can look. Too many lazy passes that he tried to make pretty. By the way - did you see his warmups? Coach Wilson needs to put a stop to that baloney right away. Practice how you should play! Go BIG RED! |

| Message | I love coming to the Waverly Holiday Tournament. One thing that bugged me yesterday was Nick Sloman. This kid would probably be a lot better if he didn't try to hot dog all the time. PLUS, what is the deal with him looking into the stands after every play??? He must feel like he has to get approval from his father all the time. Some times kids just need to play and not worry about what their parents think. The kid has skills, but he needs to block his dad out of the his head and play fundamental basketball. He doesn't get extra points for show boating. He single handedly cost his team the game yesterday against Pawnee because he would try to put that extra pizzaz on every simple play. |

| Message | I first attended the Waverly Tournament from 1975 to 1978 as a high school cheerleader. The last several years I have attended the tournament as a parent of a cheerleader and as a cheerleading coach. I love visting the tournament room and reminiscing. The website and information you provide are great. Keep up the good work. Go Ponies!!!   |

| Message | Growing up in Pawnee, I remember seeing many great players play in the tournament... Guys like Brian Thompson of Pawnee, John Martin from Pawnee, Jim Allen form Morrisonville, Mike Beck from Stonington, Dave Matheny from Pawnee, Andy Kaufman from Routt, Rawley Farris from Pawnee, Ike Dodd from Waverly, etc.... This is a great tournament. Great job to a great town for keeping it rolling all these years. |
