MessageHi,

My friend's daughter was just diagnosed with WS - she's the sweetest, most beautiful girl - she's had a rough start (she'll be two next month) with lots of health problems, and things had actually smoothed out recently, until this diagnosis, which was a huge blow. I've spent the last few hours online looking up WS, and all of the medical websites were making me so sad - they all sound so negative, and my friend's daughter is just so happy and full of life. Then I stumbled across your blog, and your stories and pictures made me smile. Michaela is beautiful and she sounds like a really great kid. You bring a great perspective to raising a kid with special needs, because your focus is on your kids, not the syndrome.

I guess I just wanted to say thanks - your blog really helped me, and I'm sure it's helping others as well.

MessageRecently I scanned through my son's medical records. They are seveal inches thick. I was amazed that I had managed to "forget" so many of the nightmarish events. At the time they happened, I thought they would forever mark our lives. Now, almost 41 years later - my son is still going strong after many serious operations and procedures. He does not have Williams but does have m/r. Your blog about the frustration over not being able to enjoy one day of good news is so familiar. You sound like such a good mother - so compasionate for your daughter. Thank you for the offer of support you sent us for our grandson.

Messagesmilie Hi Laura, saw your blog about Michaela, I am so sorry to hear she got sick. I know how hospitals are no fun!!!! You definately know when they are feeling better and back to their old selves. I hope you are doing ok, it is very stressful when they get sick. Chelsea sends Michaela a big hug and kiss and says poor thing, I hope she feels better. How is Aaron doing? he is a great big brother. Have a Happy Easter, praying that your April appt. goes well.
Love Chelsea & Cathy smilie

MessageHi Laura, I just saw your blog, I have been meaning to email you. Chelsea and I watched your videos and pictures, Michaela looks so cute, she is just like Chelsea loving clothes and shopping!!! the older they get the more they want to go shopping. I was shocked to hear about Michaela, how did you find out about this? I know what you mean about Doctors, it really is overwhelming. I can't believe Aaron is 12, he is so cute(Chelsea's words). Sarah is away at Bryant University in Rhode Island and loving it, Chelsea misses her terribly. Please email me back and tell me about Michaela. Tell her Chelsea says hi! she loved looking at the pictures. Chelsea is a freshman in high school! Fun Fun, Hugs to you and Mark

MessageYour blog concerning a day out shopping with your daughter touched my heart. My Abbi was diagnosed last year at 3 months, and I've felt exactly the same way as you stated in that blog. I'm trying to remember that all things are possible and to enjoy all of my time with Abbi!
