| Message | Hi I have a very strange request, i found your blog whilst trying to track down staff that were at St vicnets in 1975. my father was in hospital there from a severe burns accident and was hospitalised for many months and i am trying to track down some of the staff that cared for him then. | Message | Hi there Peter, Great to read your stories. I also trained at St V's from '79-'82. I had a great time mostly and 'lived in' for the whole of the three years. I have to say things weren't quite as tough getting back in after midnight..we only had to go to casualty and enter via the tunnel, to Notre Dame I only lived two and a half hours back up to Newcastle, so days off were spent traveling by train until I had my first car. I can remember supper breaks being so important to race over to the nurses home to watch Young Doctors, and of course that all important smoke. I didn't smoke, but I certainly did passively. Only in the past two weeks have I run into another nurse of my year..first time in 27 years since finishing. We couldn't believe our luck and chatted madly for over an hour. We plan to catch up soon. |
