Messagehi Mister Aronofsky
You are my Idol. your films are of artistic merit. I read 'the founatin' was a flop, but I watched it about 15 times and each time I understand a bit more.
also Pi is a very artistic movie. but no one wants to watch it with me, because it's too artistic for them I guess. thank god, there are directors like you, who doesn't care about the mainstream. Keep on doin what you did, sry for my bad english and have a nice day!

greets from germany

MessageHi Darren,

I have a vision. As a big fan of Frank Herbert's classic Sci-Fi epic Dune, I am in eager anticipation and apprehensive of a contemporary film interpretation of this great story.

Until recently, Paramount had Peter Berg as the attached director for this job. Meaning no disrespect to Mr Berg, but I have not seen evidence to suggest he could do it justice, both in his previous films and his comments on the project.

He has now pulled out/been removed from the project and the studio is looking for a new director. PLEASE talk to your agent about this and at least consider the project. I believe that you are by far the best contemporary director for the job. Having seen your work, in particular The Fountain, I feel you have the right mix of skills, vision and subtleties to really pull it off.

I read the Dune books whilst listening to the Boards of Canada. I feel that there is a sinister, desert, haunting, technological and beautiful atmosphere and edge to this story. I fear that if the film is remade in the wrong way the feeling of this magnificent world will be lost, and with it, an enjoyable and valid remake.

Perhaps this is just my interpretation, but having discussed it with many Dune fans, I can tell you that there is a whole cult following who would love to see you at the reigns. PLEASE SAVE DUNE!?

Messagehey Darren, not really sure how a guestbook works,... so... Hey... Love your work and love your style.

Okay, so also doing a director research paper for school on Auteurs. I was thrilled when i saw ur name (not surprised) to see your name on the list.

So i picked you, and now i am writing a paper, which i don't have a lot of information to create a solid paper. Soooo, if you aren't too busy with black swan right now, i would really appreciate some feedback.

I need to know five directors that influenced your work, i know that you referred to the "The Player" and "Kurosawa" in the requiem commentary, but are any other actors that influenced you or your work?

Also I need to know 5 points in history that might have shaped your work and style?

Once again, thank you so much for your work, it has really helped guide me to the path of film making. Also look forward to seeing your future work.
