| Message | Our stockhorse mare died of colic with 2week old foal at foot. We call her Indy as she is very independant, refused a bottle but loves the bucket. Indy is on 7 feeds a day and drinks 2 litres every 2 hours from 7am to 7 pm. I too worry that she does not poo enough and she is a bit off her milk today (about 2 mouthfuls left in bucket). Indy is now 1 month old and I think we should make her meals every 3 hours, will try this in the next couple of days, we gave her an enema today and her bowel habits look ok. Was very interesting reading your story and its good to know that we are not the only ones raising a foal. Take care. Regards Pam Swan. |
