MessageHello Elizabeth

Thank you for the kind words about the site and the Tiger video. As for selling your Tiger calculator, ebay is how I would do it. (I'd try listing under vintage calculators, or under Antiques / Scientific Instruments.)

Good luck!

MessageI acquired an odd ancient adding machine with japanese characters on it from my grandfather, and it sat in a closet forever - I took it out yesterday and did a little google search to see if I could figure out what it was, and lo and behold! Not only did I find out it's a Tiger Calculator made in 1934, I now even know how to use it, thanks to the video of the Tiger in action.

It's a very cool machine but I have to admit I'm not a huge retro calculator buff, and I was wondering about how I might get rid of the thing - how/where could I advertise the fact that I have this machine and would like it to go to a new home? Clearly there's a rarified group of souls out there who appreciate these machines and collect them as well - -

Thank you for this terrific web site!

MessageHello Gerry Sperry,

Thanks for the comment - you got a great deal on your brunsviga midget from the sound of it. I think the wooden plates and cases are really quite beautiful on some of these old mechanical calculators.

Messagesmilie I purchased a beautiful little Brunsviga Midget this afternoon at the second hand store for 20 bucks. Though a bit dirty it's in virtually perfect condition and works fine. I am totally charmed by it's miniature mechanical perfection. Mounted on a beveled wood stand with two metal catches suggesting that it came in it's own box and handle; the ultimate in portable calculators c.1908. I didn't expect to find much on line. Imagine my surprise in immediately finding your wealth of photos and information. Thank you!

MessageI found your site by accident. And I am so glad that I did. What a wonderful site. The first calculator that I saw was the Curta. Being a Leica owner, I can understand the precision involved. I had never heard of the Curta before today, but because of your site, I do now and I feel richer for it. Thank you for such a wonderful display.

MessageHi Frank,

It sounds like you have two adders, a Precise like the one shown on this site, and an American Can Company Adder.

The Precise is slightly more valuable. On ebay you might get roughly $50 or so (Values vary a lot. I have found that European buyers are interested in this, so you might list worldwide, if possible).
The American Adder is quite commonly found still. These typically don't garner more than $25 on ebay, unless they are in top shape.
(If these adders are in great shape, post high quality pictures, and describe what works and doesn't. And you will get more bidders)

Good luck!
