MessageYou are totally defiling my father's memory by having him listed on your 'wall'.

APL responds:

This is a matter of public record that is available in far too few places. This is not defilement but honoring, it will remain in place.

MessageThis website is trash, it has been created by a loser that does not live in my United States of America. I can not believe how direspecful your webite is to the “HEROS” of the United States Military. The garbage you spread will return to haunt you for the rest of your life.

APL responds:

My conscience is utterly clear. I am disappointed by how few places one can find this information. Support of the troops does NOT mean support of stupid and meaningless wars. The only true way to honor these troops is to see to it that not another dies unnecessarily. As for “your United States of America,” I live in it as well and wish us to be better instead of a war mongering, death delivering country we have become.

MessageMy name is Tammy, my daddy Gary Ray Bryant dies 1-25-66 and you have him listed here on your page. He is a number to you, but to me and my brother he will always be a person. I am not sure what kind of person you are. This site is not to honor the fallen but to mock their sacrifice for your own gain. I read a letter he wrote to my Grandmother a few days before he died, in it he said...if I don't make it back, please let my children know that I am doing what I think is right and I want them to know that I am fighting so other children might know peace...it may have been a mistake to have a war in Vietnam but it is very easy to save whats right and wrong 44 years after his death..we children have now lost friends in Iraq and we have family who has served there...I may not agree with this war but I SUPPORT the SOLDIERS and their FAMILIES 100%...God go with them and never forget the sacrifice they make everyday to keep us all free, if the ones of us who don't necessarily deserve it.

APL responds:

I too lost a brother and friends in Vietnam but that in no way justifies that illegal war. I support troops by making trying my damnest that none are put in harm’s way unnecessarily. The current wars have over a million civilian causalities in the name of profit. This has nothing to do with our freedom but demeans our country and its moral standing.

MessageRemove Sgt. Carl Richard Ussery's name from your site immediately. A Proud Conservative and proud of all of our menwho serve.

APL responds:

In a word, NO. This information is public information. I post it in hopes that this country can stop making war in the name of profit and stopping putting our troops in harm’s way for no good reason. Supporting the troops does NOT mean support illegal and ill-advised wars.

MessageGood day -

-- As a followup to my post of September 2009. I've discovered the number associated with the death of someone as noted on The Wall - has absolutly -nothing- to do with the date/'number' KIA.

-- I had an opportunity to visit The Moving Wall in person with a list I made up in advance with names, wall locations, so-called 'numbers'. I looked up a dozen or so I know of and the numbers were all over the place. Two groups of four killed in separate single incidents, have numbers that are not consecutive at all, nor even near for a couple others. And then of course there are some names are missing altogether.

Messagehow can i say in a few short characters what it's taken me a lifetime to understand? YOU'VE GOT IT, MISTER!
my father was a corpse on the pile. he was a proud liberal, then known as a democrat. age 37, father of three, episcopalian lay reader, partyer and extrovert. had a wonderful life cut short by.......by..........insanity. as we endure the rotting of civilization, watching the same old mistakes being made over and over, i wonder if we as a race (human) really ARE cursed to never learn. i do implore our president to reduce the troop level in afghanistan on a course for evacuation, and to vacate iraq. i do not hold my breath. thanks for your work.
